Beneath

I live beneath you.

I wade in the shallow end of your steps.

I don’t understand you,

Far as I may follow.

I know you don’t see me,

You don’t know who I am.

You’re eyes show nothing, hide nothing.

I know you’re looking through

A thick layer of glass,

Seeing things but not knowing them.

I doubt you feel my presence,

Beneath your heels.

Eyeing your every step,

Following your every move.

So far you walk,

Yet you take me nowhere.

But I know that somewhere out there,

You’ll find what you’ve been

Looking for all along.

And I wont have to live

Beneath you anymore.
