Bedtime Burden

Sun, 09/15/2013 - 17:37 -- rara77

Those tear filled nights where you toss and turn,

Mind won't stop and the heart does burn.

Your words tonight cut in real deep,

So deep that it prevents my sleep.

I hoped you had intentions to mend,

To stop all this pain in the end.

But all that matters is that you're sleeping well,

This is tougher on me than you I can tell.

So I'll just have to lie here bleeding,

And soon my heart will stop beating...

For you...

My favorite part of this poem is, "mind won't stop and the heart does burn". It explains how I feel many nights where I'm unable to sleep because of a bad situation on my mind.
