Beauty and the Paper Beast
Location
Eat my words
you beast of paper, clawing for truth and lies
Soak up my tears
and my smiles, my heartache
and my giggles
A half-formed poem
a finespun respite for
The beautiful letters and words and
meaning that
flood the paper.
Soak in, safe.
I breathe ink
and you become me,
hidden in the paper, I'm
there
Watching, waiting to share
and cry and giggle
smile and grieve
And others come.
Drawn in by the beauty, the waves of feeling
They, too,
spill their hearts for the paper beast.
He thrives on the words of the world.
He smiles.
I am still there, feeling it all.
