"Action!"

Hello, I have something to say before I sleep below.

The ground, it's frigid
but better than this world, so rigid.

In my heart of hearts I know,
or so I'm told,
the poet's words are the beats of their soul.

The rhyming scheme,
it fits their dreams,
their screams,
their yearning heart that wants to breathe free.

They want the world to hear,
the notes they hold dear,
their only fear,
the crtics' sneers,
they may think us weird.

I must confess,
I've never been oppressed,
I'm not the best,
I'm just on this quest,
to try and reassess,
the reasons why we're repressed.

I don't seek to preach,
I only seek to reach,
to teach,
to fill a niche,
before my mind is breached,
by all this propaganda bleach,
so they'll understand our strange speech.

"So, How Am I doing, so far?" (Poet stops, exits to the left)
