The Rose
There was a rose that stood out from all the red ravishing ones.
This one bloomed too early onto the sacred ground of Mother Nature's beautiful creation,
Earth.
While the others were still hiding away--awaiting their special day,
the rose that bloomed premature had to stay.
She had to remain because of the holes in her petals
that could effortlessly fly away.
As the sun set and the moon emerged, only to repeat everyday,
the rose realized her growth was not peeking like the rest of her peers.
Even though she bloomed first, she was the smallest and weakest.
It was all so very clear.
One day, a caterpillar came,
but the poor rose could do nothing,
except watch the beast feast on her small petals.
Upon the monster's leave, she thought she was safe...
that was until he came back the next day;
she knew that this torture would never end.
But she was wrong.
She survived the caterpillar's wrath and grew!
Despite the other roses' mockery and the constant agony the beast gave her,
the rose grew mighty with her potent personality,
conquering all.
Such a vibrant rose, but she still has a long way to go.
