Running
I don't have a number for how many times;
But I remember running...
I remember harsh lighting in tired eyes,
And middle of the night, fight or flight car rides...
Phone calls and ringing;
Then screaming.
I remember being jostled awake by angry walls,
And doors slamming in faces;
Doors, breaking off of hinges.
I don't have a number for how many times;
But I still remember running...
I remember harsh worlds in weary ears,
And middle of the night drunken-brawling, skin-crawling...
Tongue tied sluring;
Then crying.
I remember fake bus rides to fake places,
And car crashes in parking spaces;
Spaces, without set places.
I don't have a number of how many times;
But I'll always remember running...
