Daylight

Darkness overwhelms as night falls
Daylight seems so far away
The tunnel stretches, night continues
Daylight seems so far away
Dreams of light and feeling warm
Daylight seems so far away
The quiet screams echoing in the darkness
Wait till daylight comes
The soft claws of a murder of crows laying in wait for prey
Wait till daylight comes
Twilight snuck up on daylight
Like a hunter to its prey
Replacing light with shadows
Painting the city in shades of grey
I wander these streets
just following my feet
not knowing where to be
just knowing where I've been
by myself I Itravel
but I never walk alone
I'm a stranger to these people
I am awoken, not by sounds.
The sun egging me on with its rays to arise.
Birds conversing, cheerful small talk.
Inviting me to join the world outside.
The breeze, a mornings greeting.
As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
i realize that i am more powerful than those that surround me
Those that blindfold me , scold me, and belittle my gifts
My melodies, notes, runs and rifts
Daylight stands apart from cold midnight.
His warm smile—kind eyes—brilliance.
The touch of his hand warms our insides—
Keeps us safe—and– living right.
Midnight shakes the bones of Children.
