Letters that will never be given
Letters that will never truly live
Letters that will be hidden
or perhaps just thrown away
Letters that will be read by no person but me
I am writing this letter to show you
That romance is far from dead
And the things that drove us apart were birthed
If ever,
One day
Your children
Find the love letters
I’ve wrote you
Tell them
This is the type of love
They should search
Far and wide for
Someone to teach them
You would always get to wake up next to me, if you only asked me to stay (every night). I would be the one to electrify your body with a single touch. I hear your heart pounding once I linger my lips over yours.
I hold words of eternal affection
promising sweet nothings
and three words carelessly thrown into the wind
into weakening ink
masking the intensity of the bond
never made.
