the little things

Pain,
as bright as my neon highlighters
Statements,
bolder than the sound of my voice
Colored every which way
I trace
Over every word
So none feels left out
Because I know
" i can do all things"
didn't stop at shoulder surgery
you see beauty in the little things
paint designs on butterfly wings
so no: i won't pretend to know your plans
because they're more than i could dream
I love waking up to a new day
I love the way everything feels okay
I sit in my favorite chair
And drink my chai latte
And life is doable
I've got a sister
Riley is her name
And I'm quite inclined
To think she's insane
She jumps on the couches
And sings in the rain
But I love her all the same
I've got a sister
When the leaves rustle
And the bird sings
I don't need all the hustle and bustle
It's the little things.
The miniscule happenings of life
Like music notes through my ears they ring
Happiness. It is small things that we encounter on a daily basis,
It is feeling under the weather and finally returning to homeostasis.
It is spending time with your family on a freezing winter night,
Step by step
Little by little
Take it apart
Separate all the pieces.
Take the illness and suffering away.
Theses cannot be eliminated
Yet it's possible to use tools against them.
Ive just been layin here in bed, you're the only thing going thru my head..every little thing about you, all the things i love, all the things you do that just captivate me...
