I am here now.
It took me a while, but i am here now.
I could've done it earlier, but i am here now.
It would've been easier doing it then, but i am here now.
So no need to pretend, or defend, why not then.
What is the point of this?
Spending hours upon hours pondering:
what shall I write?
what words shall I use?
does the rhyming matter?
does it have any use?
Maybe it doesn't matter,
Dear Past Self,
I know what you’re expecting me to say.
That it’s going to get easier and don’t give up.
Or maybe
That this is only the bottom of the mountain
And you have much further to climb.
mirror, mirror
on the wall
reflecting all my superficial flaws
the lines you trace
lack the grace
you draw me with a heavy hand
lopsided ways
a toddler's game.
They say I’m waxing philosophic. But it’s only a car and so what if I like it shinyit’s mine and it reflects the sky, the sun, the moon, the stars and, in a way, me, connecting me to the universe
Can you believe it? Neither can I.
Those girls that are called ugly, dirty, stupid
Who cry
Replace their breasts, inject their lips
Nip, tuck their thighs?
Can you believe it? Neither can I.
We tell ourselves to study history
This is so that we don't repeat the past
Yet the moment we have the opportunity to change
We always revert to the exact same decisions that we choose before
Somebody once handed me a flyer.
It read
“YOU EXIST”
The aftertaste of such an idea
lasted long beyond the introduction
Existence.
A vibrating silhouette of an idea
Staring at this hourglass,
of memories in the past,
lightening flashes,
thunder blasts,
and silent raindrops clash,
with what seems to be the ground,
when spirits high no looking down,
I remember the stars
in the night
they carried my hopes and dreams
I remember the stars
from years ago
I remember the stars of tonight
But even more, the stars
remember me.
