Cuddly like a teddy bear
just for him in the night i leave a little prayer
makes me laugh like no other
my favorite thing to do with him is eat supper
my one and only inspritation
Loosely, I stare
At the shriveled man before me
I wonder how it is people stay so put together
I smile, softly
He barely moves
So instead, I move
I kiss his cheek, and I hold his hand
Dear Grandpa,
I have from you a stack of letters.
Nobody else does it better.
Each word written drenched in love,
Creasing me softly like a dove.
These letters mean a lot to me.
Dear Grandpa
Do you remember when
i came home from school when I was 5?
You sat me down at the table for a snack
and told me my dog Tippy died.
Grandpa,
Do you remember when
Dear God,
The great all glorious man in the sky
It's me,
you're originally raised catholic girl who's grandparents installed in her your love
I stayed a good girl for a long time, I prayed and I went to church
