Dear Grandpa

Dear Grandpa,

I have from you a stack of letters.

Nobody else does it better.

Each word written drenched in love,

Creasing me softly like a dove.

These letters mean a lot to me.

More than texts, calls, or Facetiming.

It shows that I am worth your time,

They always make me feel sublime.

Gramps, you are from a different era,

One where people actually care.

Paper and pen have long since died,

Causing relationship suicide.

I know I call, but hardly write,

I will do better-it is my plight.

You should have a stack from me,

Then my true feelings could be seen.

Grandpa, you are the best,

But now you have been laid to rest.

My letter is regretfully never given.

Hopefully you can read it from heaven.

Love,

Your Granddaughter
