when we’re you last a child?
that time you could close your eyes and dream with reckless abandon
holding onto that glimpse of simpler times
On an average day
In an average mind
I imagined the end of one's time
Never knowing pain
Never losing sane
Interest surpassed disdain
With the loss of sight
With the loss of control
Using paper maché with a wire armature, I created a blooming sunflower able to stand on its roots.
A year ago, I stood at the edge of a cliff
A steep drop-off to the unknown.
I did not know
if I jumped off the edge
I would discover I was able to fly.
