What if......
What if this isn’t all just a song
What if I really show you what is wrong
What if you already know who to blame
We are not heroes.
We are just people,
trying to survive.
You and I,
are not equals.
You work from home
while I...
I work to ensure
that I get to keep mine.
Leaves fall off into the world below
Like how raindrops kiss the pavement and asphalt
Leaving a trail of existence that will soon disperse
I woke up in this world
Thinking it’s free
Think it’s for me
But is it really?
They told me “you’ll understand when your older”
I don’t really get that
We shall never know what waits beyond us
until we can first learn about ourselves
for those that await the future have only further
the belief no one can truly be happy and live in the present
Between rhyming lines and desperate sighs
A truth begins to form
What started as a poem
Ended as a solution
Lines and repetition and a steady beat
Can make you think
Shedding new light on old problems
What do you see when you look at a photograph?
Do you see your memories from the past?
Do you notice the things you hadn’t notice before?
That night the picture was taken?
Welcome to the Mirrored Place
Where the clocks turn counter-clockwise
Where we read and write,
From right to left,
Where normal is done in backwards ways.
What do you see when you look at a photograph?
Do you see your memories from the past?
Do you notice the things you hadn’t notice before?
Welcome to the Mirrored Place
Where the clocks turn counter-clockwise
Where we read and write,
From right to left,
Where normal is done in backwards ways.
"You don't care. You're so unfair!"
I slam the door, hit the stairs,
hit the biting winter air,
I've done so much for her. What about me?
I storm down the street
it's starting to sleet.
You fear me coming
Some of you long for me, unfortunately
I put you out of misery and replace the spot with loved ones
The elixir of life will save you
Find that and it wards me off
Wandering home from across the stream
Catching fish all day, so many salmon and bream
With mother and father, so warm and mighty
Drink, drink, yell, yell, hit hit
The little girl is the target
Swing and throw until she falls down
Go to the lake and try to drown
See there,
Oh,
The road ends,
The prosaic road
full of human load.
But,
the end,
A wall.
Your call
The road not taken.
Mundanity ends with the world.
What do you see?
Do you see me?
What do you think what you see could be?
Is it happy?
Is it scary?
Do you think what you see is what it should be?
Everyone has their own reality.
Her porcelain skin reflects the light,
That is absorbed by everybody else’s deep brown around her.
She is not rich, but they think she is.
She does not know everything, but they think she does.
