The Little Things

Leaves fall off into the world below

Like how raindrops kiss the pavement and asphalt

Leaving a trail of existence that will soon disperse

Fading ever so slowly only to come back to fall

Flowers that blossom beauty

With every petal

So vibrant and delicate

It's words of splendor

Stronger than words made of steel and metal

A warm embrace of a newborn

Indescribable feeling

Tears trailing down filled with adorn

Seeing the first breath of life from a different perspective

The very first kiss of winter

That lands on your nose

Gazing into the grey toned mirror

The only silence

Little things that make life great

Watching the world freeze

A chance of adventure we never seem to hesitate

Our faces crested by the breeze

One moment so special

Until it is no more

Holding on to the memory because they're the only thing that doesn't change like the weather

Attempting to lock them up in the cupboard with the key wrapped around our neck

The first pedal of a child's scream

Wobbling on two wheels

Avoiding the concrete fiend

Hands that heel to a violent stop

Kisses that are showered

In a unbreakable slumber

Fading metallic tunes and warmth that over power

Mom and dad that comfort you from monsters that live right under your head

Leaving loved ones behind

Fates scissors cut you short

Pictures that rewind

From the adventures you planned on

Little things that make life great

Watching the world freeze

A chance of adventure we never seem to hesitate

Our faces crested by the breeze

To live a life with such little things
