Your eyes now so rough that were once so soft,
Your hair cut so perfectly short.
In the past we’d see each other often,
But now we see nothing of the sort.
The clothes you wear are different than most,
The Few.
This way of life is not for everyone;
Most think we're crazy, which might be true.
There's no black, white, or brown, just green.
Serving my Country with pride,
Along side my Corps family.
thirteen weeks.
then ten days.
then some months.
that's how long he'll be away.
While he serves the country,
I will wait for his return,
for his love
is worth any wait.
In a crowd you are bound to spot him
He is standing so very tall
Not too much impresses him
He has seen and done it all.
His hair is short, eyes are sharp, and not a smile is seen
You'll be leaving soon

USMC fighting to save, support
you earn respect and give it
then proudly wear it
the respect becomes yours

there might not be many but they are proud
can you guess who I'm talking about
Miles away from home a soldier lies,He cherishes many hello's, and despites goodbye's.He risks his life, he is willing to die,He does all of this to see that American Flag fly high. What most people do not understand,
This was written while I was at basic training for the United States Army.........
It's amazing how the essence of somebodys presence can change you.

Steel hearts, locked eyes,
Tears form, deep sighs,
Tears fall, eyes close,
No more words, he already knows,
Sergeant calls out commands,
He backs away, we drop hands,
Plane flies, let it go,
With the bend of a finger
Another man is dead
With a bend of a finger
He’s been shot in his head
I can’t believe the time has come
You’re gone away, so far from home
But I don’t blame you
It’s your dream
To become one of
The Few, The Proud, The Marines.
They earn their title from sweat blood and silent tears.
They well never regret being called a United States Marine.
That’s right there marines they are known for their intelligence and survival rates.
Walking off the airplane
he stands proudly in his camis.
I waited to see this day
ever since he last boarded the plane.
Life is freedom, life is choice, or so we're always told.
Life is choosing right from wrong, From being young to being old.
Life is love, life is joy,
Life is laughter from girl to boy.
The gentle rocking of a
heavy metal coffin
rocks her to sleep
Instead of the pleasant
beat of her child’s
heart.
