A Soldiers Sacrifice

Location

Miles away from home a soldier lies,
He cherishes many hello's, and despites goodbye's.
He risks his life, he is willing to die,
He does all of this to see that American Flag fly high.
What most people do not understand,
Is our lives are in their hands.
They keep us safe and take a stand,
They see some horrible things first hand.
Miles away he wishes he was home,
Listening to his wifes beautiful voice on the phone.
He knows she is praying for his safe return,
To be back home he will no longer yearn.
For being a soldier Is a difficult task,
Many will not hesistate to ask why,
Why do soldier's risk their lives or even die.
Of course to see our American Flag fly,
and that is the most honorable way to say goodbye.
