Hipsters
The table stays
the wood is grey
a light sull yellowed
tingy yellow brown
when on the bench
the hobo sleeps
the homo weeps
the political correctness steeps
and for weeks and weeks
He is tasting every savory wordWith a clenching jawIf he doesn’t lower his voice the barista will noticeAnd the inky hipsters drinking their black coffeesWill become our audience
Peers and youth clatter and clank
Minds nearly filled with blank
Always looking so fine and swank
A job and work a threat or a prank
Parents diving into their savings bank
I'm different, I'm different, I really am!
Believe me, believe me, it's not a scam!
I wear skinny jeans and Skrillex my hair.
This should be reason enough for you to care.
We don't get to timeour crises of faith,do we? When thebite has gone outof the bourbon itseems as thoughjokes are not funny,as they used to be.
