Sometimes I just want to wrap myself in poetry.
Curl into a ball so small you hardly notice as you pass by.
Curl up inside the stanzas
Cozily cocooned in imagery
Allow myself to be swallowed by it
I want a future that is both yours and mine.
I want to have dinner parties on the porch and drink wine while the twinkle lights shine.
Sink in, honey,
Let your weight settle on me-
Get cozy and warm.
Inhale the fragrance of jasmine and rose.
As your eyelids fall to rest,
A room awash with warmth.
Tea steaming within a porcelain cup.
Quiet resounds henceforth.
Everything is looking up.
No people now.
No thoughtless phrases to cause harm.
I'm alone, yet somehow
Once upon a time,
when life was a dream
and life was on the line,
with a train losing steam,
being lost wasn't fine, yelling "I don't know what's mine"
rather lose track than lose my mind,
I could live without,
but I don't want to.
I couldn't start my day right,
and my nights wouldn't be the same.
The heat wouldn't run through my veins,
not through me at all.
Life would drag,
