The Morning Sofa Beckons

Mon, 12/09/2019 - 00:20 -- kcas

Sink in, honey,

Let your weight settle on me-

Get cozy and warm.

Inhale the fragrance of jasmine and rose.

As your eyelids fall to rest,

Blanket wrapped ‘round your chest-

Breathe.

The tap outside the window belongs to the hummingbirds.

The elegant beauties put me at ease,

Just as much as this calming morning’s peace.
