Fear of the unknown,
different customs, food, clothing,
here on U.S. soil.
Immigrants welcome!
Give me your poor huddled mass,
that was then, now what?
“Other” is my race,
can’t fit in categories,
where do I belong?
Squander everything,
Shame of cultural disgrace,
Yet God yearns for me.
Where I draw my strength,
without Him I am nothing,
with him, anything.
