Poems from Marika Brooks
Bubble me
Wrapped up
In helium you.
Tie me ‘round
Your pretty wrist,
’Fore I float away.
You’ll ne’er know
You were
And always will...
Here, we are more than
Just our skin and bones.
Here, we are composed of
The frequency that vibrates
Between two people
So consumed...
Our bodies fell apart and I felt
an empty tranquility, like my
head on your chest was the
only thing that mattered and
the flames...
Well, hell, baby,
We tried our best
In this wild world
With what we had.
We shed our skin
And left our bones
At the door, lost
All...
with your smile
ice
will melt from grey boughs
frigid
tears upon a fair cheek
with your touch
leaves
will shudder in tender breeze...
