You are not really there

You gave me love for one day

I see you constantly and what do you say?

Absolutely nothing

I am told this is the way you are

That you love to be loved and fail to give any

I felt you in my heart I really did

But it’s not there anymore

I don’t blame you

But we are fundamentally different

I require a certain type of love that you can’t give me

This is best for me

Yet I still am tempted to give you the benefit of the doubt

Since I don’t give up easily

What’s the point

What’s the point

You don’t even give me the time of day

And I don’t know if that will ever change

I’ll ask you

This poem is about:
Me
