You

Location

This is specifically directed to you.

You may not be here to hear my words,

But as long as the words exist,

As long as the words have been spoken

And they are directed to you

It doesn’t matter.

For the majority of the time I have known you

You were not important.

I knew you,

You knew me.

But you were a speck on my windshield.

If you ceased to exist

I would have acknowledged your end.

But that is where it would have ended.

Now,

I enjoy you.

I take pleasure in having you in my company.

Talking to you is simple.

You waved to me.

That was nice.

You brighten my day

And that is wonderful.

I enjoy you.

I do not know what the future will bring.

That scares me.

But sometimes it makes me feel safe.

No one else knows the future.

No one has that power over me.

No one but perhaps you.

I am giving you my future.

The decision is yours.

You could be a memory.

A word that is sad but happy at the same time.

You could be an old friend.

Maybe we could talk every once in awhile.

And you would brighten my day.

But you could be so much more.

And that could be wonderful.

I enjoy you.

I say this and I mean

I am glad you have been a part of my life.

Even if it is just for a short while.

If you left, it would be sad.

But you waved to me

And that was nice.

My words are directed to you.

You may never hear them

Or you are hearing them now.

It doesn’t matter.

My words have been spoken

And they belong to you.
