You
You were there when I needed you the most…
When I was breaking under pressure,
Like a sapling overburdened with snow.
I always thought of myself as a mighty oak,
And yet you proved me to be nothing more than the sapling in the forest.
But…
You were okay with that…
You were more than okay with it.
You wanted to be the one who taught me how to grow tall and strong.
You wanted to teach me how to spread my branches up towards the sky,
To not have a care in the world.
But I thought of myself as a mighty oak.
Not needing of any help,
For I was always as strong as I looked…
Until I wasn’t.
Then everything came out of me
And I came crashing down into the reality of myself.
When this happened,
I turned to you.
For there was no one else I could count on
There was no one else who could pick the pieces of me back up and stitch me back together.
There was no one else who would want to know what was happening.
There was no one else who would care to know…
And that is the last arrow that went through my heart.
That the only person who would care for me…
Is the one person I had pushed too far away to help…
