Where I'm From

i'm from

the top of the mountain

close to the sky

where the men don’t yell

and the kids don’t cry

where the clouds taste sweet

but revenge does not

up here in the mountains

love is all we've got

the sky is full

of exploding stars

we jump up and reach them

and keep them in jars

but the lid stays off

so that they can breathe

and so they can come

and go as they please

but our celestial vessel

is always quite full

without the stars

the mount would go dull

i'm from the top of the mountain

far from the ground

i like it up here

i'll never come down

but on shooting stars

i wish you could see

the world from the top of the mountain

with me
