What Was Had

How many hearts have to break?

How many steps do I gotta take?

How many breaths, oh lord forsake?

Until I come home to meet my maker?

You’ve watched me struggle and watched me drown.

All this time you’ve made no sound.

As I sunk beneath the water, you let go of my hand.

Like rose and jack, you left me to sink to the end.

A titanic type love, that ended with me dead.

Thank you for the good times. Thank you for the bad.

I hope and pray that you find your calling,

and always remember what we had.
