Before you was warm, natural and comfortable.

The beginnings of a life so old, yet new.

I could be happy, mad, bland, or blue.

With you I felt so vulnerable.

Emotions grew, good and bad,

But, despite it all, I found myself glad.

I can be all things warm and cold with you.

You make me smile, you make me laugh.

Because, in the end, you're my better half.

My feelings, love and exasperation are nothing but true.

And I hope you can return my feelings.

So I may begin a new life with you.

This poem is about:
My family
My community
My country
Our world
