Venus is my twin

Location

I found my long lost twin in France. Hanging in an art museum.

She is pale with long curly red hair. Like me.

She is a goddess, born out of a shell from the sea.

Not like me.

But to my parents my birth was just as miraculous. Divine.

Dead babies who could have been my older sisters.

Many tears. Then finally, me.

Mom was seeing patients in the hospital. Awkwardly balancing charts on her belly.

Suddenly her water broke.

The waves of the sea.

She calmly walked upstairs to the maternity ward, happy as a clam. Shell.

And in the calm after her hurricane, a gift from above. Me.

The most beautiful creature she had ever seen. And the most love she had ever felt.

Venus.

The goddess of love.
