There Will Always Be That Tear

He smiles now,

but there will always be that tear,

stained on his face,

from the time he longed to taste

any small bit of food.

He smiles now,

but the tear still remains.

He smiles now,

but there will always be that tear,

stained on his face,

from the time all his fears,

kept him still, in one place.

He smiles now,

but the tear still remains.

He smiles now,

but there will always be that tear,

stained on his face,

from the moment he knew his dear, dear friend,

was no longer with him.

He smiles now,

but the tear still remains.

Smiles don't hide the pain once felt,

they make the pain worth while.

Smiles don't cover up any feelings of despair.

Tears are always stained on the cheek

and to the trained eye they are abundantly clear.

Smiles are worth it.

So don't hold them back!

Did you hear what I said?

Smiles are worth it!

So don't hold them back!
