That Sunny Day

I remember that sunny day
When my world crashed and caved
You called me that very morning
And your hair needed to be shaved

I remember that sunny day
When cancer took its toll
And I refused to let you see me cry
Because it would hurt heart and soul

I remember that sunny day
When I was emotionally destroyed
I left to go back to the dorms
And my mind was a void

I remember that sunny day
When I got back to the school
I thought he would comfort me
But he made me a fool

I remember that sunny day
When I didn't know what to do
He was on top of me
And I couldn't think anything through

I remember that next day
When I decided not to tell you
That I was raped that night
Because I didn't have the heart to

Forever I will fight that sunny day
I will not let it win
I will carry on with life
And I’ll do it with a grin
