The Strong And The Silent

Here we go again
The record players broken
Its hard to miss
Hearing all that’s unspoken
I’m sick of this
Waiting for the lights to go out

I found a key
In a drawer in kitchen
It takes me home
To a place I’ve been missing
And honestly
Its the greatest escape that I’ve got

When the chapel bell rings and the steel drips in blood
When the river front breaks and the moon shares its love
When the skies are all cloudy and gray
I don’t feel so alone

‘Cause we are fighters
We are standing in pieces
But standing the same
The strong and the silent
We’ve been through the thick and the thin
The smoke and the flame

Now look at me
I cam back around
For a second turn
When the going got rough
I just had to learn
To make angels in the ash on the ground

Now look at us
We stand short and tall
But we’re standing strong
‘Cause we all found a place
Where we do belong
And our enemies can’t make a sound

When the nightmares all whisper they’re coming for me
And a world deep in hurting is all I can see
When the streetlights all vanish and die
I’m not on my own

‘Cause we are fighter
We are standing in pieces but standing the same
The strong and the silent
We’ve been through the thick and the thin
The smoke and the flame

We’ve been through the thick and the thin
The smoke and the flame
