The String of Fate
The moon isn’t for the Sun.
She isn’t for him.
They were never meant to be
anything more than eclipsed.
Sure, they could hope and pray
But that doesn’t change the everlasting curse.
The string of fate.
They were never meant to be.
But, oh it is fun to pretend.
It’s exhilarating to hope for a different outcome
A different life, a life that is new.
The string will still be there through the pretending.
It doesn’t just go away.
That string will end,
The string will cut and pull the two
As far as possible to the places where they were meant to be
Separated.
