Storm's a Comin

Storm clouds gather in the afternoon skies
Like doubts and fears clouding my eyes
They used to be hazel, now they're grey
Once they shown like a bright autumn day

Raindrops splash on the window pane
The drops like tears reflect my pain
The sadness and sorrow fill my thoughts
I can't help but think of the grief you've brought

Lighting strikes and consumes an old tree
Like the burning inside you left with me
My heart black and charred. Without a care
you got up and left, you left me there

Thunder rolls by rumbling in my ear
The pace increases, the storm is near
Unavoidable it rages on
Never ceasing 'till nearly dawn...
