the smell of best friends moms

Sat, 03/21/2015 - 00:15 -- sunbare

the first time in my life i ever smelled a stick of incense was at my friend lindseys
we were in the fifth grade and she was my very very very best friend
she watched all the cools eighties movies
and knew every dance to all the "good" michael jackson songs
her mom burnt the incense and her house was my favorite place
they had a trampoline, a good sound system, cats and fairies
yes, fairies
everytime i was over they would be in new spots and we had to be VERY careful not to touch
because if we touched the fairies could no longer fly
the fairies perched on incense holders on ceramic doorsteps that hung from the walls
and on kitchen knick knacks
and lindsey's mom was a hugger and she was a laugher and a giggler
the smell of incense smells like warm hugs and lindsey's mom's laugh and although
my mom hates it when i burn my incense but im always back to the the second house on keith lane
