Ski Fever

Location

I must go back to hills again, to cold and snow and sky

And all ask is a pair of skis and poles to balance by

And cold that stings and wind that blows and white that hurts the eye

And skies so blue and mountains tall and friends to pass the time

I must go back to hills again, for call from swirling snow

Is wild and free that call with cold that numbs my freezing toes

And all  I ask are windless days and runs left unexplored

And powder spraying and eagles playing and freezing cold ignored

I must go back to hills again, to fly and soar through snow

To conquer slopes and mountain peaks, to gaze at valleys below

And all I as is sanctuary and warm hot chocolate drinks

And peaceful nap and flickering fire for when the daylight sinks
