For She Is The Moon

For Cindy

She is the mysterious mesmerizing moon

Sitting silently in sorrowful solitude

She is encased in darkness

Insecure about the light she cannot emit

She fails to see that she is loved

When the oceans reach up to kiss her lovely face

She fails to hear her admiration

When the wolf woos to her wonder

If only she can fully accept the Sun’s light

So she doesn’t have to shine alone

If only she can feel his warmth around her heart

So her skin won’t be too cold to touch

If only she can feel his gravity

So she is guided away from the dark thoughts

If only she would open her bright eyes

To see beyond the shadows

And to be overwhelmed by the billions of other stars

So she can shine ever more brightly
