I was the type,

that held on,

expecting the worst,

unable to release myself,

from what I presumed was safe.

I would hid in the shadows,

waiting to be cleansed by the rain,

I didn't know,

that when she left,

I would long for the sunshine,

truth is,

she didn't protect me from my suffering.

She helped me love it,

get through it,

and most importantly,

she helped me get better.

She made my dreams turn from sadness,

into dreams that made me want to run,

faster than the wind,

towards the best and happiest dreams.

Across the bridges that were built by my hidden desire to be healed.

But now,

she is gone,

and I am again,

left with the shadows,

longing for a glimmer in the darkness.
