Shades Of Time

Tue, 11/18/2014 - 00:16 -- Bzuke23

I gaze into the mirror, wait that isn't me

Someone else is looking back at me

An eldery man, clean shaven with striking brown eyes

I then realize, they are mine.

Sunken cheekbones of slow death

Naught skin wraps a pale frame

THIS ISN"T ME

IT CANNOT BE

But it is i see, a shade of my dieing self

I splash some water on my face

God I was a horrid disgrace

Again I gaze into the frame

A teary eyed boy shares my name

Terrible memories come about

Even the devil is trying to tear them out

"TAKE THEM AWAY" my small mouth screams

Through wailing eyes the devil agrees

And takes away all my memories

But it is I see, a shade of my past self

One final time I splash my face

But it's me this time.

I've seen my past and my future

What to do, What to do

Behind the Curtain my life is a lie

But in front of all, nothing to hide

Shades of Time showed me the way

Hopefully I'll live to see that day

Where the striking brown eyes stare back at me

And I have all my memories

Because no one can make you who you are

Unless you were the one who made the stars.
