To Save But A Wilting Flower: A Sonnet

A dreary flower wilts away

when the water and sun have gone.

Depression sets in and attempts to stay.

From internal thoughts does it spawn.

Longing for laughter, its only solace.

Longing for friendship to bring it to life.

When granted its wish, the world seems flawless.

The anxiety beckons for one final strife.

Love is the water that supports the growth

of the beautiful flower in pain.

Family is the sunlight, and the flower needs both

to find life in its petals again.

Though the mending is tough and won't come with ease,

time and compassion is enough to heal trees.
