This Savage World of Politics

With cold and calculated heart and mind;

A man who lacked remorse for other men,

Twisted the sights of those walking behind,

To turn them to a life of sheep and hens.

With lies, deceit, he grew a yield of hate,

Which sprouted up to bring persecution,

Upon the souls who hold a colored trait,

And to treat their beliefs like ablution.

Whilst in their midst the ground did start to die,

And hope withdrew from those who knew a god;

As soil broke, the sun mistook our cry

As though we plead to make us die abroad.

With humble hearts we search for hope elsewhere

Within this savage world of politics.
