Rain, Rain, Acid Rain

Drip-drip, pitter-patter
A steady pace to punctuate a thought
Turns to a down-pour with a crack of thunder
And a single thought becomes a roar

The rain washes the dirt away
To reveal the truth beneath
Atoms charge to light the sky
And illuminate the same in me

Rain, rain, acid rain
Wears down on my nerves
Thunder roars and wind reminds
How hard truth is to put to words

I like to watch the falling rain
So I let the storm swirl on
And the pitter-patter outside my mind
Becomes a hurricane

The storm won't stop
Until my fears are washed away
I won't see a starry sky
Not until the truth is all that's left to say

Rain, rain, acid rain
Wears down on my nerves
Thunder roars and wind reminds
How hard truth is to put to words

I'm grateful for my acid rain
As I look out over the edge
Let it break the ground I'm standing on
Let go and fall like rain, rain, acid rain
