The quiet voice
People don't listen, they push you down and say you have no voice.
You hide in the shadows, wanting to speak but never knowing how.
You have an opinion, but they say it's not allowed,
You're too young to think for yourself, you don't really understand.
Why can't people see? You're just as human as them.
They reject you and send you away. They don't care.
You feel empty, a million fragments scattered in the wind.
No place belongs to you, you belong to no place.
You become the quiet one, watching, thinking, but never speaking.
You're afraid of being rejected, afraid of being humiliated.
people don't understand how much it hurts.
They don't leave room for you, they don't care what happens to you.
Nobody see's your pain, your loneliness. All they see is themselves.
They're too busy being loud to notice the quiet voice.
You go through life, dreaming of a day when they'll notice,
A day when others will see you for who you really are.
A day when they will realize your existence.
A day when they will be ready to hear you speak,
A day when they will understand the pain their actions put you through.
You don't know if that day will ever come,
If people will ever be able to look past themselves and notice the quiet ones.
But you're here, watching, waiting, hoping, dreaming, ready to take your chance.
