When one looks into the mirror, they find

Satisfaction, security. I saw

Disappointment, disgust, all of my flaws.

Muddy-colored hair that’s never defined,

Irises lifeless, never do they shine,

Round-shaped face and acne scars. When I draw

Myself, I use plump lips and distinct jaw

Lines with pearly whites evenly aligned.

I rose one day, my happiness profound,

Epiphany! Negativity erodes.

Such a magical moment, clarity.

A spotlight only I can see surrounds.

I looked to the glass, my reflection glowed;

It was then that I found beauty in me.
