Paint Me Perfect

Paint me perfect on your wall.

Deep wine lips, erase the flaw.

Pearly white teeth that I have always hidden.

You’ll see a smile I view as forbidden.

Glossy nails that shine the sky.

Long white dress; purity can’t lie.

I wore a realistic mask so you couldn’t see

the bright, wide smile wasn’t from me.

This concrete wall right off the grave

has written across, “the girl who didn’t behave”.

You read my shirt, “just looking for trouble”.

Yet, I never agreed to disobey the bible.

You yell, “turn around,” but I can’t move.

The dress is too tight; that’s what insanity can do.

You’ll paint me perfect but the picture hides

all the secrets deep inside.
