One O'Clock
Location
The clock struck one and shadows danced,
There I was among the ants,
The dark sky roared a somber tune,
Of thunder and droplets to drown me soon,
A heart of mud slipped out my chest,
Down to the ground to join the rest,
My fingertips were dark and stained,
And did not clean although it rained,
The liquid despair was dark as all else,
And soon I was a puddle myself,
Melted away into silence eternal,
Trodden upon and unheard.
