They might give slightly sexist or slightly inapporiate advice. 

But advice is advice. 

If they gave me advice, that means they pay attention to me. 

If they gave me advice, that means they care about me. 

It's like my co-workers own slightly special, slightly awesome, and slightly odd appericaition for me.
