A Note To Bullies

Sat, 11/24/2012 - 07:54 -- Mata

Little Maxy brought a gun to school today and shot himself
He put it to his heart  and shot himself
The echoes from the roar of the gunshot were dense and shallow
Like the bullet passed through empty space
Like his heart was filled with empty space
And not the 'who stole the cookie from the cookie jar' empty
It's like that painful empty
That lonely empty
The empty that longs for company
For a friend, an acquaintance, or maybe even an enemy
Because at least an enemy knows that you exist
His breath fails to escape the grasp of his jaws
It was trapped
Like his silent screams
All he wanted was to be loved
, to be understood
So he opened his heart and uncrossed his arms
But they ended up being amputated by cold stares and rejection
He began to keep his arms at his sides
No longer reveal the emotions that he so bravely wore on his sleeves
They muted his suicidal pleas of acceptance
His blood was like secrets seeping through slit wrists
He was a slave to his own silence allowing tongues to lash whipped words on his back
These same tongues are applying bandages to his soul in form of apologies
They're trying to erase their cruelty with their guilty lips
Trying to shed hurricanes with the eyes that saw Maxy praying, pleading asking for a friend
Making crosses  with fingers that will choked the words escaping from his throat
Mumbling sorries from the mouths that stayed silent
Placing the hands that beat him and choked him on their faces as if surprised
As if they didn't know , when  dropped by heavy words , you can shatter
When kissed with sharp venom
Your heart can melt
When slapped with rejection
You can fall
You can save your burning apologies
Because it's too late
You can wipe those streams of guilt off your face
You're not sorry that Little Maxy killed himself
You're sorry because you know it's your fault.
Little Maxy brought a gun to school today and shot himself
He placed the gun on his heart and shot himself
The echoes from the roar of the gunshot were dense and shallow
Like the bullet passed through empty space
Like his heart was filled with empty space
You werent in his heart
So you can never know what it's like to be broken
But you can redeem yourself
Instead of blowing pain into the lives of innocent souls
Smile
Yes, smile
Smile and compliment and say hello and jump for joy !
Gain happiness and be willing to spread it
Give what little Maxy never got: Love
