Not a hero just a friend
I remember walking through the halls thinking should I or should I not
I saw what they did, so one day in class I had a thought
I might need to do something about it
Someone needed to help you, what I did I will not forget
That day they held you against the lockers trying to hurt you
That moment was the moment I knew
I had to do this without a second doubt
If I didn’t act you would be hurting going down the hurtful route
I remember running through their circle saying “hey hey buddy I was looking for you”
That moment I was a stranger, someone you never knew
I had taken you away from them and into my care
I knew from then on I would treat you nice and fair
The look of confusion on your face
Soon disappeared and a bit of happiness took its place
A hug that I never expected soon followed
I smiled and said “hey you’re my new friend”
I was not about to let you go another day being picked on
You seemed quite not sure why you were free from them
But I knew I would be the same way
But hey we are friends now
Don’t worry I won’t let them bully you anymore
We just closed that door
From now on until the end
That day I was not a hero just a friend
