No, I Won't Stand

Location

I am upset because

I still live in a world where

an unarmed person of color

can get murdered and have no justice

I am irritated because I

honestly thought

we were absolutely done

treating others like they

are animals like we did

back in the 50’s

I am upset because

“hands up, don’t shoot”

has become the national

outcry that is heard all over

because justice was not served

So no, I won’t stand

for the pledge of allegiance.

I won’t ever stand for it anymore.

I won’t. You can’t make me.
